Powerful love story with delightful paranormal elements and enhancements!

This second story in the ‘Moon Maidens’ series places Misty, a friend of Raya's from book one, front and center. So I am back in the community with shifter folk, weres, and vampires. There has been an uneasy truce among these three not very compatible groups. Toss in one really nasty, sneaky slimeball and the balance that was in place starts to disintegrate. However, another interspecies love affair provides quite a bit of heat and energy to try to bring this community back into a healthy equilibrium. Beautiful!

Misty really enjoys her wolf mode. She gets to thoroughly relish racing through the countryside and she is a very effective combatant when she is shifted. One gorgeous night, she inadvertently breaks up a disturbing assault where the victim is severely injured. Misty is instrumental in getting the injured party's wounds immediate attention and then transport to the local special hospital. Misty senses an extremely amplified attraction to the victim which is greatly intensified since she is needed as a blood donor to solidify the recovery process. The ardency of this link is frankly beyond words. Additionally, this union adds an important re-bonding between two of three sub populations. The die has been cast. Intriguing!

Sofya is the victim of the interrupted vampire assault. She is confused, but feels her understanding has been compounded by her father keeping her somewhat in the dark about some important information. Furthermore, she is rather overwhelmed by an intense sexual buzz coming from her desire for her protector. How and why that sensation is plaguing her on multiple levels takes a bit of time to completely unravel. Nevertheless, those feelings supply a new super-heightened stimulus for someone outside her familial group. Uh-oh! Possibly because her equipoise has been troubled, Sofya's sense of stability takes a major hit in relationship to Misty. Their joining seems almost doomed before it has a chance to gel. Devastation!

Will fences be mended in time to solve the mystery that flows from the first book of this series, ‘Moon Dance’ through the conclusion of ‘Moon Bound’? I suggest you read the first book; it is not essential but it will enrich your enjoyment. These two short stories were quite endearing and provocative providing a delightfully winning combination from my viewpoint. Mesmerizing!

Great story

This book pick up after the end of Moon Dance. Misty is a wolf shifter and while out running she find a girl who had been attacked by vampires. She rescues her and takes her to Amari who helps to revive the girl and take her to a clinic. But when she returns to visit, she discovers the girls family has taken her home.
Sofya is a Werewolves and part of a clan that have distanced themselves from Shifters. When she wakes up she cannot forget the guardian angel (Misty) who saved her life. Their paths cross again but things become complicated when it is discovered that Sofya's family may have a hand in the death of Raya's father. Will their relationship survive the war that is brewing?

I have to say I enjoyed this story a little more than the first book. We get to understand the mystery surrounding Raya's history a lot more and the sense of suspense is a lot more developed in this story. Of course Misty and Sofya together was totally hot too.

These two stories can be read as standalone but I recommend buying them together and reading them back to back. A great way to spend Saturday evening.

I am an independent reviewer for Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock. I received both Moon Dance and Moon Bound from them and their Author. Moon Bound is the second short novel in the Moon Maiden Series about Misti and Sofya.� The story jumps right into Misti becoming Sofyas' rescuer. They have an immediate attraction despite their heritages. Then you find out some more background information on about the cause of the attack which ties well from the first book. There was a short obstacle in the book that took place however it really never took root before it was gone. I believe this to be more of an novice writers second attempt to enhance their writing. There were errors when it came to naming the right character at certain parts. The rushing without a lot of background or lead up was a big downfall. I really would have like to see the story developed more like in the first novel. Based on the contents this story is for 18+. I am giving this story 3 Fangs.

About the Author
Alan Merry is a practising cardiac anaesthetist, whose research focuses on safety, and in particular, on reducing error, in anaesthesia. He was the co-founder and co-chair of the New Zealand Medical Law Reform Group, which contributed to the passing of the Crimes Amendment Act 1997 which redefined the threshold for criminal prosecution arising from negligently caused harm in New Zealand. He is author of a number of papers in medical and legal journals. He has developed a computer-based systems approach to reducing drug administration in anaesthesia (the IDAS) which applies many of the principles discussed in this book, and which is in use in several Auckland hospitals.

This is an excellent book which gives a very good introduction to the field of peri-operative TEE. It is much better than the older version with new chapters on the upcoming field of 3-D ECHO. A must have for any one trying to master TEE in general.

Extremely difficult to follow without other resources.

For a text intent on explaining the principles and practices of echocardiography, the authors do a very poor job in conveying their obviously detailed knowledge to the reader. New concepts are rapidly introduced with either no explanation or no examples, relying on the reader to find other resources to provide a better grasp on the ideas. Whilst the depth is excellent, I was quite disappointed in the text and found others much more useful for concepts, relying only on this text for its greater depth.

I know this book is a classic but I found it to be rather difficult to follow...Perrino's book, although less detailed, explains things in a much easier format....The DVD, however, has excellent clips that help in the review process for the NBE exam...

About the Author
Michael R. Speegle is currently the Department Chairman of Process Technology, Instrumentation and Electrical Technology at San Jacinto College in Pasadena, Texas. He holds a master's degree in biology from the University of Texas at Arlington, and has worked for 18 years in the petrochemical and refining industry in various roles. Retired from BP-Amoco, Speegle completed three oil and gas internships sponsored by BP to enhance the teaching of oil and gas exploration and production. He is also the author of several books and articles in the field and co-authored two textbooks for analyzer technicians. Speegle is a member of the Gulf Coast Process Technology Association and has received a certificate in oil and gas production from the Center for the Advancement of Process Technology.

Black is great!

Black is the first of the circle trilogy and it is amazing! The graphic novel is so cool and you can read it in like an hour! I recommend this book, it has awesome, interesting characters and a great story that will keep you on the edge of your seat and as you flip the pages your jaw will drop at the plot twists. Make sure to have White and Red or else you will be out getting them because you will want to know what happens.

Dekker is awesome. The Circle Series is unique - I love reading them in strict order, including the side books. You can find a list online. THEN - at some point, pick up one of the Graphic Novels to get a different visual. (You may like your visual more, or the books illustrations more. Fun stuff that way.) If you're short on time, you can get through the books faster by reading the graphic novels - they're condensed. Any way you slice it, Dekker is great. He's got about 40 books out. His stand alone books (outside of any of his series) are great too. NYT best seller!~~

You get what you pay for

I was desperately waiting for this book to become available. I owned the original and it was amazing. This book is small and some of the most memorable photographs are missing. The $23.10 that I paid for this book could have gone toward the cost of a used copy of the original. Calling it "Allure by Diana Vreeland" is a disgrace.

Diana Vreeland was one of those RARE individuals who ENTIRELY created themselves....... A RARE GEM of a GLOSSY, LACQUERED, somewhat aristocratic woman who, through SHEER WILL (and intellect and breeding, certainly) became THE paragon of style in a world that continues to coarsen and disappear,,,,,,,Interestingly, as the years went by she became more ALIVE, more liberated, hopefully more happy......A woman of EXCEPTIONAL TASTE, she was able to maneuver the Park Avenue crowd where she purpurtedly grew up, but as she grew older she KNEW that new blood was needed and she headed DOWNTOWN to mix with the "demimonde" and started to leave behind all that stuffy old money that was growing more and more irrelevant.....
I have been GREATLY inspired by Mrs. Vreeland, even though I never had the honor to meet her......
Her joy of life, of BEAUTY, of humanity was alwyays PALPABLE, and I believe she had a great heart......
BRANDED forever an UGLY GIRL by her unstable,rather monstrous mother, perhaps that came to define her life, as she says in her"Bio" DV---which I highly recommend.....
This particular book is filled with large black-and-white cutouts from newspapers and magazines that she kept for inspiration, and the subjects are varied, but always come back to her obsessions with royalty and the most SOIGNEE women of the 20th century..... Half or more of what she says is pure FLUFF, but frothy and delightful (and sometimes downright CRUEL). I have derived much pleasure from this book, but may I suggest that you ONLY buy this book IF you have a fascination with the upper classes, STYLE, and the sayings of a very STYLISH woman who sometimes verges on madness and parody-------tongue-in-cheek parody, as she was too intelligent to take herself too seriously.
In a world that COARSENS more and more, Mrs. Vreeland is the perfect antidote-------a "figure of fantasy" that can offer us a moment of respite in a CRASS, VULGAR, let-it-all-out society.....
She was very SPECIAL, and she is missed.......
UPDATE!!!!
I had based my review on the ORIGINAL TOME which was perhaps 18" by 12"---an oversized, ultra-glamorous object (SIZE CAN make a difference sometimes-----SHUT UP!), and then saw the new print a few days ago (March 2011) and my heart SANK------it has suffered from, well, erectile disfunction..Ha! That is not a problem for those who cannot envision the old, of course, but for me it was a deep disappointment...... The "Grandiosity" of the old one MATCHED the creator of it-----why they decided to do this, must clearly have been the fear of poor sales, but the "larger-than-life" clips were, to me, a necessity. Still, I will buy the SHRUNKEN one (why did I give that book away???)....So let me not SOUR it for you.......The paper is now glossy, which is lovely, while the old thing was a thick, rough kind.......
Oh well, go get it.... Mrs. Vreeland deserves your purchase!

About the Author
Adam Ding, M.Sc., PQS, GSC, PMP, CC, LEED AP (BD+C), is a professional estimator with extensive experience in a variety of commercial, institutional, industrial, residential, heavy/civil, and sustainable infrastructure projects. He holds a master's degree in building construction from Auburn University, a professional quantity surveying diploma from the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors, a project management professional certificate from the Project Management Institute, a gold seal certificate in estimating from the Canadian Construction Association, a competent communicator certificate from Toastmaster International, and a LEED accredited professional certificate from the Green Building Certification Institute. Adam has enjoyed a successful career estimating projects of varied sizes, ranging from large-scale cost planning to detailed trade take-off. Having bid countless construction projects, he developed a unique and easy-to-understand estimating approach. He has also taught classes at Auburn University and owns the copyrights for a number of spreadsheet estimating programs. Adam currently teaches in the construction management degree program at Red River College. He is a regular contributor to Construction Economist journal, introducing the latest estimating technologies and techniques. Bait and Ignore

Bought the first edition specifically because the cover said that the forms were available for download. The second does not. There are references all over the book where to go on the DeWalt site to download the forms. The forms are not there. Set up an account and contacted DeWalt about forms. No reply. Did some more searching and found that DeWalt has another book called Contractor's Forms and Letters that comes with a CD. Companion to the second edition of Construction Estimating? The book is just about useless without the forms since you would have to spend a lot of time recreating what you need.

He has provided the reader with a clear breakdown of the underlying principles of how our self-talk programs our minds. He shows us how we can literally re-wire our brains, and how this relates to the science of neuroplasticity.

The Best One-A-Day Book I've Read.

This newest book by Dr. Shad Helmstetter is a stellar companion to his classic "What To Say When You Talk To Your Self" and his recent "The Power of Neuroplasticity." When "What To Say . . . " was published in the mid-80's, I read it and immediately bought several. I would give it to people who were negative or struggling. This newest book will be even more effective as a gift because of how its message is presented. Self-Talk tips are gently sprinkled throughout a year's worth of great Self-Talk phrases. These tips explain everything the reader needs to know to embark on a course of new, right Self-Talk. This is an easy read and offers the single most important tool people need to succeed. Readers will learn how to rewire their brains! You'll want your own copy for sure. (My only challenge was to not read all 365 days at once!)

One of his best books yet!

This is a fantastic book by my friend and mentor Dr. Shad Helmstetter. Each morning I read the days self talk script, ponder it, underline it and sometimes make notes. Then I try and review it throughout the day so that it sticks. This coupled with listening to self talk on selftalkplus.com really makes my days go better. Thank you Dr. Helmstetter for once again creating a wonderful tool to help make our lives better.

About the Author
Brian Smith was born in Germany in 1972. Son of a German mother and a British father he grew up having both German and English as his native languages. After completing his education in Germany, he moved in 1995 to Hong Kong where he spent twenty years teaching English and German. He has also learned other languages including French, Latin and Cantonese. His extensive teaching practice with people of different ages and nationalities, and his own experience in studying foreign languages have given him a unique appreciation of how best to help learners make progress. He has already written several books including a series of children’s stories describing the magical adventures of two small boys.

At first this book stuck me as ridiculously easy. In a single sitting, I read through chapter after chapter of the German text without looking at the parallel English translation. Then, I decided to read the parallel English translation to see if I could mentally put it back into German exactly how it appears on the page. This exercise showed me instantly what grammar I actually knew as opposed to what I could merely recognize. There was a big gap. If you use this book right, it will help you bridge that gap. The book is chuck full of grammar, and you will learn it without even realize you are learning it. The free online recording of all the German in the book also is a great feature. If I could give the book 6 stars, I would.

This is really great. I talked to some German friends and asked if the author's accent is good. (There is a link for the audio that you can download or listen to online.) They said it was, and that he was really slowing down and articulating well too. I am a beginner and this seems to be just right. I have been enjoying it so far.

Excellent Study Companion

This book has given me just what I was seeking in my attempt to gain some basic knowledge of German. While it is written in a necessarily simple format, the book provides greater insight into the sentence structure and vocabulary of German than any other method I have used in my studies. The accompanying reading of the passages on the author's site adds to the books usefulness. I am reading and re-reading this book. When I feel a reasonable level of accomplishment, I look forward to buying the next level books written by the author.
