I have all 5, I bought them for a class, and they are terrible. They are poorly written, horribly outdated, and the production values are nonexistent. Many of the pictures and diagrams look like they were photocopied and taped into the book, and there is no coherent progression of the information. Each tidbit of information is given in an arbitrary order with no rhyme or reason; there's no "flow" from one thing to the next, just random factoids. And when I say outdated, much of the information is at LEAST 10 years old, and there is little mention of any of the new developments, even things that happened a couple years before the time of printing. If you need these for a class, get other books to supplement these. If you're just interested in the subject, look elsewhere.

Used this book for a class. It has some good material but I am not a fan of CEH overall. I don't think there is enough low level material to really let the reader grasp the fundamentals. It's great for learning the basics of tools.

She is the author of many best-selling books of poetry illustrated by her husband, Stephen Schutz, including To My Daughter with Love on the Important Things in Life, which has sold over 1.6 million copies. Susan Polis Schutz has done it again. I've been a fan of Susan's writing, including To My Daughter With Love, for years. In this wonderful book, she turns the lens inward in a revealing, poetic discussion of her bout with depression.

If you suffer from depression, or know somebody who does (most people do), then you will get something from Susan's latest book.

Something happened in this book that's never happened before. Anyone who has read my reviews will know I don't like a lot of angst. I looked forward to it in order to see the hero suffer in this book.

Jason, Earl of Coventry, is informed that he must marry a lady of his late fathers choosing in accordance to his will. If not he will lose all funding. Let's just say he leaves a mistress of 2 weeks(also married) to end up getting completely soused and having sex with a maid the night before his wedding.

Lady Olivia has never had a season, traveled with her father instead.Imagine being a woman of that time, marrying a man you've never met and than on the day of your wedding he appears three sheets to the wind. I was so angry that not only was he drunk because he chose to party with a maid the previous night but barely showed up on time because he woke in her arms hung over. He couldn't even see straight so when he went to kiss her he couldn't hit his mark.

Olivia deserved better. He gave no explanation the following morning just left. Lousy character. Though they each went their own way they still both end up in London. Jason is torn on what to do and one night at a ball sees Olivia across the room. Here's the problem I had. I had little respect in his character to this point of the book he's left a mistress of 2 weeks because she bored him and had a romp with a maid the day before his wedding and now he sees his "wife" and the author thinks we're going to want the two to get together?

This innocent woman who put her future in the hands of this loser, who BTW has no clue that she is, in fact, his wife. We're expected to be in love with the fact that he finds her pretty? He goes on to be arrogant and dominate over other men who pay her attention even though he is married to another or so he thinks. Upon introduction Olivia realizes he has no clue who she is and plays along by giving her maiden name of Grant. The author comes up with the ploy that he can have the marriage annulled and then per sue with Olivia.

Jason is written as a shallow man but with the flip of switch is honorable and in love..rrriiiightt. I honestly can't understand why so many gave this book such a high rating. The hero humiliated his bride showed no remorse until he learned who she really was and because he's handsome and sought after by all the marriage mamas of the ton we would want him with Olivia? NO! NO! NO!

Than to add insult to injury the author continues by throwing all his ex's in Olivia's path. Poor Olivia stands and witnesses as Mary the maid throws her hands around Jason's waist and winks and says maybe next time. I really got tired of reading about the mistress the brat in the closet... really? Should have let them have him.

It was not romantic. I didn't want to see the guy get the girl. The love scenes were good but not with him and all his baggage. There was a HEA if you want to call it that because in my opinion Jason needed more character development. I have read many books where the H was a rake but at some point you experience gradual character growth I didn't. He was possessive over her because other men continually stared at her breast but that's not love or romantic. It was like the author wanted to make it romantic and hot but all she accomplished was making Olivia into a play thing for the men of the ton with Jason the kid fighting for his lost toy on the playground.

Delightful story

If you enjoy a funny book with a Regency flair and a clever plot twist then The Elusive Wife is the book for you. It is a cute, well written story with charming, flawed characters. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

Jason Cavendish, Earl of Coventry, knows that an arranged marriage is on the horizon, but when the word comes for him actually marry he does not take it well. He shows up totally drunk, marries the girl and leaves immediately after. Lady Jane Olivia Grant is not thrilled to be marrying a stranger, but she cooperates with her father's wishes. She is, however, hugely annoyed when the groom appears in a fully drunken state, then leaves. She takes the bull by the horns by traveling to London to stay with her friend. She proceeds to take society by storm as the new beauty, Lady Olivia, and catches Jason's rapt attention. Jason does not recognize her because he was too drunk to really see her and he married a girl named Jane. What follows is a fun, but predictable romp where Jason falls for his own wife while feeling guilty about it and Olivia gets her revenge.

The Elusive Wife is not a great book, but it certainly is a good one. It has that traditional Regency feeling with a more modern twist and enough steam to keep most readers happy. Jason was not a bad guy; he was just very far gone into rebellion against a marriage planned by his father. Olivia was resourceful and determined. The story moved along nicely to a very satisfying ending. Readers will definitely enjoy this one.

A ray of sunshine

The Elusive Wife is the hoped for ray of sunshine on a cold and cloudy day. Our lovely and charming heroine finds herself married to a drunken cad who bails on her the morning after the wedding. What ensues is a lively and engrossing tale of how she eludes his interest and bests him at almost every turn. It's one of those non-stop reads that leaves you with a sigh and a smile at the very end. Waiting patiently, sort of, for the next installment of the Entangled Scandalous series.

About the Author

Nathaniel Benchley was the author of several different types of books, as well as plays, movies and magazine articles.

He attended Phillips Exeter Academy and Harvard College, majoring in English. Shortly after graduation, he married Marjorie Bradford, and they settled down in New York City, where he worked for several newspapers and magazines. In 1941, before the attack on Pearl Harbor, he joined the U. S. Navy and was later trained to command small PT attack boats. He served in the Navy in the North and South Atlantic theaters and was on his way to the Pacific campaign when the war ended in 1945. He returned to New York and joined his wife and five year-old son, Peter. The next year, they had another son, Nathaniel Robert.

Nathaniel Benchley worked as a freelance writer –and painter- for the next 36 years. He wrote novels, plays, short stories, reviews, movie scripts and a very popular biography of the actor Humphrey Bogart. Much of his material was drawn from his life in New York and Nantucket, MA, where the family had a summer home. He found the small town life in Nantucket was rich in characters and material for adventures. He wrote a book titled The Off-Islanders, which was later made into a successful movie called "The Russians Are Coming! The Russians Are Coming!" It was the story of a Russian submarine run aground on a small New England island. Several of his other books were also made into movies.

His sideline as a painter of landscapes led to his participation in many gallery showings.

Mr. Benchley used his fascination with history to create a series of books for beginning and teen readers. His particular interest was in taking a moment in history and examining it through the eyes of a young boy. He told stories about the Vikings coming to what would later be called "America;" Native American Indians dealing with the new settlers in their land ("Small Wolf"); young boys in Colonial America ("Sam the Minuteman" and "George the Drummer Boy") and the movement west; and a young boy who joins the Navy during World War II.

He also wrote a series of books for very beginning readers, many of which were about animals and their special bonds with humans ("Red Fox and His Canoe," "Oscar Otter").

He was always proudest of the letters he got from young readers who had identified with one of his characters and wanted to ask questions raised by their reading. He personally answered every letter he got from his readers.

In 1974, his son, Peter, published his first novel, Jaws, based on his experiences fishing off Nantucket in his youth (and a healthy imagination).

For the last many years of his life, Nathaniel Benchley lived in Nantucket with his wife.

Nathaniel Benchley lived by the motto: "A craftsman is one who does what he is given to do better than others feel is necessary."He died in Boston, MA, in 1981.

Joan Sandin is the illustrator of many books for young readers, including the "I Can Read" books Small Wolf, written by Nathaniel Benchley, Snowshoe Thompson, written by Nancy Smiler Levinson, and her own The Long Way Westward and The Long Way to a New Land. Ms. Sandin lives in Tucson, AZ.

Eye opening

This really opened my daughters eyes to how the Native Americans were treated as the settlers moved in. She wants me to read it to her over and over and is always asking me more questions to learn more.

Be Warned...

This book is very one-sided and although it may be factual for ONE tribe in ONE region of the country, it sent the wrong message for my child. The settler is described as looking like "the Devil" twice in the book. Never do the Native American characters do anything wrong, but the settlers were very trigger happy and shooting at the Natives preemptively when the N.A's only wanted to "talk". The book never reconciles the two parties and leaves the reader to believe that white men are the devil and that N.A's are just peace-loving passivists. If that fits your world-view, here's a piece of propaganda to feed your kids...

Quick read... motivating

This book is inspiring for those who are business-minded... and concerned about the slide in ethics seen in the business world. If you believe that your word is your bond, you will resonate with Huntsman's ideals. It sickens me how litigious our society has become.

I would give this book a higher rating, but I didn't learn a whole lot that was new. It was motivating, but not very deep.

This author is someone I knew very little about, having only seen him on Glenn Beck's program many years ago. He has such an amazing, and truly inspiring background. His family is learning by his examples, and I really look forward to see what the Huntsman family will do over the next few decades, as he is leaving a legacy.

About the Author
Jonathan FitzGordon has been practicing yoga since 1995 and has been teaching since 2000 after receiving his certification from OM Yoga Center. He owned and operated the Yoga Center of Brooklyn until the fall of 2009. He is the creator of the FitzGordon Method Core Walking Program that has been featured in the New York Times and on Good Morning America. The Walking Program was born out of FitzGordon’s personal and professional experience with changing neuromuscular patterning through self-awareness and repetition. The program’s philosophy rests on the rock solid belief in our ability to change and evolve as we age.

expensive for what it is

I received this book, and the receipt was not included...I went online to see what I had paid. Over $16 for what is really a glorified printout from a website. While it had okay information, the print often refers to illustrations that don't exist, or the print instructs you to look at the red part of the illustration when all illustrations are in black and white. Additionally, much of the print is so tiny in the illustrations, you can't read them without magnification.

Most significantly, the photographs that go with the exercises are very, very dark and in places hard to see. The directions that accompany the photos are okay, but with small, very dark photos to follow, I am very disappointed.

It appears that the book was printed on April 12, 2013, in response to my order, which makes me think it is printed to order. So, perhaps mine was a copy that was very dark. Still, it speaks to quality control.

For something that is a printout/pamphlet, I am very disappointed at the quality and cost.

Best advice the author offers at the end of the book is to "drink water." No kidding. Be aware that the few poses that were offered were not exercises but yoga moves. They are not designed for people experiencing pain and stiffness.

I just received this book a few days ago. After doing a few of the exercises and learning and applying a few of the basic concepts, I am already on my way to solving my piriformus problem with a program that makes sense, and this appears to be better than anything else I have tried to solve this problem. Easy to read book with clear instructions for exercises.

A must read for MLM Networkers

In the MLM (a.k.a. Network Marketing) industry any upcoming or fresh entrant, aspiring to reach whereever that he has decided to reach or get whatever that he has set out to get using this industry as his vehicle, should not waste a single day before getting a copy of this book and reading it immediately - not to mention re-visiting it as often as possible. Why? Every NM company that cares about its distributors' or representatives' success encourages them to learn everything about the industry. "Get to know the industry you're working in, inside out!" you hear the big earners say. Well, that's not without reason. Whether you will be able to promote the product/services of your company or not, is secondary. The primary challenge is to educate your prospect about the industry in positive light. By and large this is the primary issue for prospects, so much instrumental in transferring or not transferring your belief in the mission you have embarked on. Not to mention the years and years of built-up negativity that needs to be erased even before you introduce your company and products.

This book addresses this problem. I give this book a five star because (1) this is the only book available that sums up, yet covers all aspects of the industry. You won't need any other book to learn about the industry, not that there are any as comprehensive and complete as this one. (2) Secondly, this book is coming from the authority in Network Markerting Industry. In fact, for me this book is an objection handling manual.

Great support for new marketers

Of all the network marketing books I've read, this has by far been the most helpful. Why? Because it deals with the real issues that cause difficulties for new marketers, the bad press, the non supportive comments from family and friends, the inevitable periods of depression that come when one is in a self-motivating business, and above all, the necessity of a good team. It IS important to keep one's attitude positive and this book will help you do that, by helping you look the negativity of others and on occasion yourself, straight in the eye. I give it to all of my new downline!
